Big Bear Hole Pond

bass spawn is over - bluegills swarming the shallows with dinnerplate-sized nests cleared out. I got literally DOZENS of hits on topwater frogs in the lily pads - but none landed. Had 2 Stanley Ribbit frogs bitten off by pickerel - and I was using 30lb Spiderwire braid! The weed mats are starting to form, so topwater frog fishing is here!!!! WOOHOOOO! Try flipping jigs/worms into the weed pockets during the bright sunny part of the day. Lots of hits, but no hook-ups = frustration
