MAFF KAYAK TOURNEY RESULTS-FARM POND-MAY 15
As could be expected, Farm Pond was a minefield of Pickerel. Ken did the best job of dodging them to find to find 3 keepers and the win. Nice Lunker for Kevin! He asked me to witness the scale reading as I was fishing near him at the time and the sun can make it tough to see in in the picture. I was tempted to try to net the fish as he released it but wasn't quite willing to stoop that low! Good to see some new guys one of whom finished 3rd.
1st: kenwood- 5 14

Post pics if you can guys.
We had good weather all around. It was nice to see the sun for a change. We had very little breeze which made the water flat for a lot of the day. This is probably the first tourney we have had in a while where first, second and third was only separated by 6 or 7 ounces. I caught my 3-5 on an underspin with a Siezmic shad around 9:00 and that was in three feet or water down the far end. I caught the 1-4 on a Strike King Rage Tail craw in white and that was at 9:45. I saw a lot of bigger bass along the LH side along the rail tracks down in 8' of water, but could not get them to bite. I saw a lot of smaller beds with no fish on them, they almost appeared to be bluegill beds due to the size. Luckily, I only grabbed 3 pickerel during the day. Thanks again Tom for another well run tourney!
I caught three pickerel on a spinnerbait within the first five or ten minutes, so I switched to a more finesse type of bait.
At 7:20 I caught my first bass, not far from the ramp. Seven minutes later I caught my second. Same area.
I moved away then, fishing the bigger part of the lake. Caught a number of dinks and more pickerel, but I didn't land another keeper until the end of the day, right where I caught the first two.
It was a 1-pounder, but it kind of told me I probably should have fished that area a bit longer—or all day.
Either way, a wins a win, right? Congrats to Kevin and John as well! =)
