Justin Riley's Latest Reports

Launched from Marshall Hall ramp at daylight and fished the river till 3pm. The water temperature was much colder than the weekend before. Only caught 5 fish all day, the largest fish was almost 4 lbs. All 5 fish were caught on a 1/4 oz Rattle Trap. Water temperature reached 40 by the end of the day. Slowww day. I cant wait till the water temp gets above 50 degrees. It wont be long!!!

What a difference a few degrees of water temperature makes. Launched out of Smallwood Park. 3 days prior the high temperatures warmed up the water to 47 Degrees. During the day of fishing a cold front was passing through and winds blew 15 to 20 out of the north by noon. All in all a great day of fishing for February. Caught a total of 14 Bass with the largest about 5 lbs. Some fish on crank bait, rattle traps and spinner bait. Fish were very aggressive and one of the keys to the day was to find clearer water.
