Weekend Fun

After not getting out in 10-days and getting by the 1-yr mark of my Dad's passing I was looking forward to fun camping and fishing with friends and family. Friday I got on the water after loading up the cabin around noon. Weather be damned I came to fish. It was wet and the canoe needed bailing many times. Things started slow but after a tip from buddy saying his girl was getting some bites on a jointed minnow I made the switch from blades and a swim-bait to the j9.

Well Friday finished with 9 bass 8 pics and a sunnie. Most of the damage came on the j9 (used the golden color I like it in the fall) but I did manage my two biggest on a hollow body swim-bait they were 2lbs and 3lbs. This lure was great in cover and had a cool action to it. I was off the water at 6pm.

Saturday no more rain but plenty of wind. On the water at 11ish and all I managed was a pic. My brother managed 3 nice bass though, 2 on blades 1 on a crank-bait. Hit the cabin for lunch and got back at it until dusk. Again buddy had a tip on jerk-baits that was working for he and my brother but I could not get it going. As the win died or lessened is the better word I got 1 on a blade and them 3 nice bass on soft plastics the biggest going 2.5lbs.

All and all another fun trip thanks to my buddy his girl and my Brother for all the laughs, food, fish and friendship
